The view from the chateau is very soothing and the bed is very comfortable. Modern design elements throughout the hotel and very updated.

A little far from city center. If not dining at the hotel, hard to find a restaurant or convenience store nearby late at night. The superior room was smaller than the pictures shown on their website. Apparently the superior doubles are those located at the main chateau, and standard doubles are those located at the side building. No difference in size whatsoever.

It was excellent lovely setting lovely food good wine. Not too busy so plenty of room

Parking long distance from the hotel

Relaxed atmosphere, open spaces and green surroundings. Fresh and tasty delicacies at the hotel restaurant. Comfortable bedding. Bikes available as an hotel courtesy.

I had booked one "superior" room but I was installed in a small room (actually the bathroom was as much as large as the room). At checkout I was charged €18 pp for breakfast although in the booking conditions (meal plan) the cost indicated was €10 pp.

The location, the surroundings, the staff, basically everything

Everything is very good apart from the several sepes up and down to reach ur room, espically if u have alot of bags and small kids

We loved the place in the country where the castle was. Beautiful castle, in a very nice way restaurated, with a beautiful garden and surroundings.

The location is quiet, and the setting is very lovely. The room is excellent value for money. This was a return trip for us, so it was a bit disappointing that the restaurant ( a big factor in our choice) has been simplified and only had one set menu which was a bit basic, but as a stopover en route through Belgium it serves the purpose.

It was wonderful staying in such grand surroundings. The owners were very helpful with things to do in the local area.

Chateau de la Poste is surrounded by beautiful countryside, very peaceful location and offering many outdoor activities. The hotel staff was friendly and I was impressed by the cleanliness of the room - good hotel housekeeping service.

Tentative hotel staff, but limited in number. Although breakfast was good (always fresh products), it lacked variety and the presence of a staff member to oversee the breakfast area.

    Beautiful grounds

Staff are without doubt the rudest I have ever experienced. It goes beyond bad service to downright insulting, a breathtaking lack of manners if there is any problem. To put Hotel Staff as 'poor' is to give them far too much credit. In addition when we arrived the toilet smelt like a sewer. And although the exterior is beautiful the inside decor is poor - no decoration except mud coloured wallpaper

  • Family with children
    6.2

The location was really nice, and the terrace for eating and looking out over the forest was excellent.

As above, poor decor, steep stairs and poor lighting. Also, the pictures in the Chateau were very dull, all the same subject, tree foliage. A few portraits, or landscapes would have been better. The breakfasts were very poor. Mercure hotels are much better in quality and variety, at least the one we stayed in before was.

The place is beautiful, the staff are friendly, the dinner is excellent. Great setting for walking or just relaxing.

They didn't respect the price announced by Booked.net

  • Group of friends

The rooms were elegantly renovated, preserving the old charm and infusing a modern twist. The grounds and property were beautiful, despite the winter weather and rain.

The hostess was quite unpleasant and downright offensive. Upon asking to use the sitting areas (advertised as common areas - which typically means open use for all guests) to eat some pastries we purchased in Dinant, we were told it was an unreasonable request and that no guest could eat anything on the property (with the exception of the guest room) if it was not purchased from the hotel restaurant. She then told me that such behavior was "American". While, I may be American I try to integrate into other cultures, learning the language and customs - to be so insulted, was unacceptable.

  • Older travelers

Rooms in the castle itself are charming, staff is helpful and friendly, we took part in an accompanied walk that was really interesting in spite of the rain and the cold (no wonder, we stayed there in January), lots of cosy areas for relaxing and having a drink. The region is beautiful and provides many outdoor activities.

Plan to have your breakfast early in the morning! When we arrived at 9.45am lots of things were already missing on the buffet (Breakfast ends at 10.30). That was a sour surprise considering breakfast price. But it was the only thing on the negative side!

Very imposing looking chateau and property ,friendly staff , however parking facilities were distant in the rain and restaurant was over rated with paper napkins and soft plastic cups in the room + overpriced breakfast, specially for families with small children . However we will return to this hotel when the weather warms up for the lovely surroundings which proportion great walks .
